Beautiful Weddings Reveal Their Favourite Wedding Setups

beautiful-weddings-beach-ceremony-setupWedding stylists are a bride’s best friend… second to diamonds of course. Why? They’re the wedding fairy godmothers who, using your inspiration, bring your big-day vision to life. Of course there’s never a spare second when it comes to the schedule of a wedding stylist. But Queensland Brides managed a quick chat with Nicole Ritchie. Nicole is one half of the sister duo behind award-winning styling company Beautiful Weddings. Here, she who revealed her five favourite wedding setups.

Brisbane reception styled by Beautiful Weddings

Kym and Paul – Brisbane

Kym wanted a soft romantic look for her Brisbane wedding. We used florals in white, ivory and blush for their ceremony at Roma Street Parklands and carried this colour palette through to the reception styling at Mirra in Fortitude Valley. We used gold accents to highlight the warm tones of the room, including sequined tablecloths and pillars with large floral toppers. The tea lights on every table and fairy light backdrop behind the bridal table gave Kym and Paul’s reception a touch of glamour.

Wedding ceremony

Rachel and Michael – Sunshine Coast

The natural colours of our rustic arbour setup looked divine on Coolum Beach. The overcast sky projected a filtered light on their beach ceremony, taking away any sharp lines and shadows. We adorned the arbour with vintage-style florals and rustic branches, diamante strands and touches of lace. We hung fresh florals on the aisle chairs with little blackboard hearts featuring their initials. When Rachel and Michael stood under the arbour to exchange vows – we could sense that their love was so strong it gave us all goosebumps!

Chang and Shu – Gold Coast

Chang’s wedding styling inspiration stemmed from a romantic vintage garden of deep red florals. With that brief, we got to work putting it all together with floral work by Jacqui M Designs. For their wedding ceremony we used our chocolate deluxe arbour, featuring silver birch branches with beautiful long lengths of flowing white chiffon. Fresh floral arrangements of gorgeous deep reds, pinks and ivy were added to adorn the arbour, to create a romantic and whimsical look. Our rustic timber chairs were dressed with a burlap sash tied in a bow, aisle chairs styled with jars of fresh vintage florals and our burlap runner, framed by a mass of deep red rose petals. The ceremony was full of fun, music and laughter, as Chang and Shu’s guests enjoyed their intimate ceremony in the South Island garden of Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast.

Claire and Justin – Whitehaven Beach, Whitsundays

It doesn’t get more romantic than an intimate Whitehaven Beach elopement. Brisbane couple Claire and Justin had started planning their wedding when they decided to run away to The Whitsundays instead!  We travelled by boat out to Whitehaven Beach and set up their gorgeous beach wedding prior to them arriving, so when their helicopters landed, they could simply walk up to the ceremony site and be married.  After a celebratory glass of Champagne and some stunning photos, the couple were whisked away by Heli Reef for an aerial view of The Whitsundays passage before heading back to Airlie Beach for dinner to celebrate.

Anita and Brendan – Gold Coast

A sunrise wedding is certainly not for the faint-hearted. But to have the sun rise as you declare your love is something so incredibly special. We dressed our favourite Gold Coast spot, Froggy Beach, with our chocolate arbour and lined the aisle with stunning timber lanterns for Anita and Brendan’s wedding ceremony. We added a drinks table and suitcase full of cute throw rugs to offer guests as the morning was a little chilly.
