Wedding Reception

A dream Brisbane wedding venue with a menu to delight

Hands up who’s looking at a restaurant’s menu long before they ever book a dinner reservation? If you’re among the crowd waving both hands around, you’ll certainly be making food a priority for your guests – oh, and for you – on your wedding day. So, here’s a tasting plate to set your tummies rumbling for more. QB had a chat with the gorgeous Brisbane wedding venue, Summit Restaurant, to see what tasty morsels they have on offer for weddings. Dig in!

The venue

Summit Restaurant, a gem of the Brisbane foodie scene, is renowned for delicious fare and incredible views (it’s got panoramic views over the entire city, thanks to its vantage point atop Mt Coot-Tha).

The chef

Executive Chef, Samuel McCrystal – a passionate chef with a particular penchant for Queensland produce. Sam began his career as an apprentice at Summit Restaurant, before taking flight to broaden his culinary skills in a number of different venues. He came back to familiar stomping grounds in 2006, where he showed his creativity with every seasonal menu. Executive Chef since 2010, Sam’s perfected an extensive wedding menu to ensure all guests (and couples) are left talking for the best reasons.

The menu

Exuding decadence with every course (and in every mouthful), the Summit Restaurant wedding menu is one to salivate over. Take a peek at that dessert – it was created in conjunction with an ice cream artisan…

Cold entrée: Prawn and avocado timbale with tomatoes, Spanish onions, and gazpacho dressing
Hot entrée: Crispy confit pork belly, served with a carrot and ginger puree, pickled beetroot, and a pea and green olive tapenade
Main course: Tornedos béarnaise eye fillet of beef, wrapped in bacon and chargrilled. Served with sliced avocado and tarragon butter sauce
Dessert: Cookie ice cream sandwich, served with chocolate fudge, raspberries and brandy snap crumbs
