Emma + Nick: family is forever

  |

When it comes down to it, there’s usually nothing a bride wants more than to have all her family with her on her special day. Brisbane bride Emma was fortunate enough to have this for her wedding to Nick Muggeridge… even if it had been 16 long years since her clan had all been together!

With guests travelling from five different countries to be with the happy couple for their wedding at Toowong Rowing Club, there was one other thing the bride was hoping for: perfect weather so they could show off Brisbane in its best light. The big day dawned and… there wasn’t a cloud in sight.  “It was, as clichéd as it sounds, everything we wanted and more,” says Emma.

When it came to the wedding decorations, Emma and Nick stuck with the tradition of ‘something old’ by using the same table numbers and tea light holders that had been used at Emma’s sister’s wedding the year before. And by using flowers from the arbour (deconstructed after the ceremony), the couple’s florist was able to cleverly enhance the bridal table without incurring extra flower costs.

Like many brides, Emma says the most special part of the wedding was walking down the aisle and seeing her husband-to-be, Nick. “He didn’t hold it together very well and it just melted my heart.”
