Five Queensland Venues With A Difference

  |

Looking for somewhere totally unique for your celebration? We’ve rounded up five of our favourite venues to ensure an unforgettable “I do.” Your guests will wish they thought of it first…

Queensland wedding venue with a difference – Cloudland

Wedding of Alistair & Sarah. Pelizzari Photography

Cloudland, Brisbane

Equal parts chic restaurant, opulent venue and spectacular art installation, you really do step into another world at Cloudland. Well placed in Brisbane’s buzzing Valley precinct, this totally decadent destination offers a choice of locations (we love the Rainbow Room with retractable roof so you can party under the stars) and plenty of eye-popping photo opportunities. Don’t miss a shot in their swinging cocoon chair in the lush surrounds of the Madame Hedges area or silhouetted against the indoor water wall. Amazing.

Wedding venue with a difference – Aussie World on the Sunshine Coast

Wedding of Anita and Murray. Andrea Sproxton Photography

Aussie World, Sunshine Coast

Australiana cool meets all the fun of the fair at Aussie World, where you can host your ceremony and reception amongst the carnival rides and theme park attractions. Try the iconic Shed for a rustic-luxe celebration then join your guests on the dodgem cars, carousel or in side show alley. With a capacity for up to 1100 this is surely the Sunshine Coast’s most unique wedding venue, with a variety of theming options and packages available. Channel your inner child and check it out.

Wedding venue with a difference

Wedding of Amy and Josh. White Images

Jimbour, Country Queensland

Heritage luxe meets country chic at heritage-listed Jimbour House in Queensland’s Darling Downs region. The elegant stone homestead (circa 1876) is only open for special events and is an attraction in itself but we are particularly taken with the intimate onsite chapel and spectacular old aircraft hangar which is available for receptions. The expansive grounds of formal rose gardens and manicured lawns sweep out to acres of picturesque countryside – ideal for photos and utterly romantic.

Wedding venue with a difference

Sea World and Sea World Resort, Gold Coast

Imagine a dolphin selfie as part of your wedding album! Sea World and Sea World Resort offer Dolphin Cove encounters and so much more as part of their wedding packages, catering for intimate events and grand occasions in their captivating theme park location. With the Gold Coast Broadwater and picture-perfect sunsets as your backdrop, this is the quintessential GC experience. Sea World even throws in a complimentary wedding night in the luxe waterfront honeymoon suite (including room service and breakfast) as part of your package. Love that!

Wedding venue with a difference

Villa Botanica, Whitsundays

For a truly personalised tropical wedding close to home, you have to see Villa Botanica. Featuring a hand-carved ceremony pavilion overlooking the sparkling Coral Sea, grounds full of lush rainforest, exotic gardens and breathtaking architecture, and stunning reception options, this is destination wedding wonderland. With exclusive use for you and your guests and a highly experienced team on hand to ensure your every wedding wish is granted, you’ll never want to leave. Magical.
