MEANING
A warm, dynamic, powerful colour, orange contains some of the fire of red but embodies a gentler, more creative energy.
VARIATIONS
apricot, mango, amber, pumpkin, burnt orange, peach, coral, salmon, maple, ochre, tangerine
PERFECT FOR ...
a high spirited autumn wedding in the countryside or a summery tropical celebration. Many Thai, Buddhist or Dutch weddings may traditionally incorporate elements of orange.
WORK IT ...
into your reception with hot orange silk table runners, decorative copper details and tangerine paper lanterns. Make up a fruity punch with slices of orange on top or serve orange cake as your dessert. Dress your bridesmaids in flowing coral-coloured gowns, carry tulips or accessorise with amber jewels.
MATCH WITH
Classic choices include cream, ivory and chocolate brown. If you want to keep it bright and bold, burnt orange can look amazing with fuchsia or use a gold or
gunmetal grey accent.
SIGNATURE DRINK
Well there’s always the amber ale, but for something a little more refined ...
