Why did you choose The House of Laurels as your wedding venue?

“It was everything we wanted – ceremony and reception in the one location, packages to suit our budget, plenty of accommodation around the venue, and a gorgeous French provincial look. Laurels gave us the best of both worlds.” Did the menu influence your decision? “Being foodies, we wanted a venue with a great menu. There were so many things to choose from and we had control over what was served (that was definitely one of the main reasons we booked). We loved the char-grilled beef tenderloin with tiger prawns for our main.”

Tell us about your wedding styling and decorations…

“The great thing about Laurels is they can organise as much or as little as you want. Laurels supplied everything for our rustic/vintage theme, aside from centrepiece vases and table name holders, and worked closely with me to bring my ideas to   life.”

What’s the most unique thing about the venue?

“There are fairy lights everywhere! We fell in love with the look it gave the whole reception area, and at night it was even better.”

Did the The House of Laurels help you resolve any problems or challenges?

“The only real challenge we faced was if the weather was going to be sunny or not, but Laurels’ wet weather option gave us peace of mind. Their organisation was so smooth, we were really lucky.’

What’s the best piece of advice the venue gave you?

“To relax and let Laurels take care of everything. It was such a relief to leave everything to wedding planners Amanda and Chris – I had complete trust in them.”

What’s the one thing you’d tell other brides-to-be considering this venue?

“The Hinterland is a popular destination and some venues can be expensive – Laurels, on the other hand, have packages catering to all budgets without compromising quality.” The most memorable feedback from your guests? “How beautiful and intimate the entire day was.”

Your most precious memory of the day?

“Walking down the aisle in the garden, seeing my future husband standing in front of the gazebo, with sunlight flooding through the trees.”
