Wedding Reception

Perfect Place: The Courthouse Restaurant

Looking for the perfect reception venue? We quizzed readers Kimberly and Matt on why they chose their reception venue and why they loved it!

What we loved about the venue… we had been to dinner there a number of times and loved the food, so the Courthouse was really the only choice for us. With such a beautiful outlook, and wedding ceremony and reception all at the one venue… how could you go past it?

The venue looked amazing when… from the table settings to the ceremony area, everything was amazing. However, what can be more beautiful than a sunny day with Moreton Bay as the backdrop to our wedding ceremony?

The food was… to the highest standard, which we had experienced when dining there at other times. Choice of dishes were exceptional and extremely hard to narrow down. Silver service care added sophistication.

Decorating tips?

We decided to keep it simple and elegant as the venue has so much character and history already. Simple jars with lace and baby’s breath, plus candles on the table.

On the day… it was so much better than we could have imagined. The wedding co-ordinator ensured no dramas and the entire day ran smoothly. The venue provided excellent

atmosphere and service.

The best photo locations around the venue… the oceanfront, gardens, porch and the restaurant itself made for beautiful backdrops, so we didn’t need to leave (which was extremely convenient).

Our guests especially enjoyed... the fact they didn’t have hours to spare between the ceremony and reception. As everything was in the same location they had canapés and drinks while we had our photos, then went straight into the reception.

Three words about the venue?

Picturesque, sophisticated, elegant.

I will always remember: The incredible atmosphere that made our day so much fun – we didn’t want to leave.

What off-site accommodation was available nearby?

There are some private three-bedroom rentals at Waters Edge which are lovely and can be booked through Ray White.
