Wedding Reception

Perfect Place: Gabbinbar Homestead

What we loved about the venue…

It was visually stunning, from the gorgeous, extensive gardens to the beautiful reception rooms in the homestead. The wedding planner, Deanne, was extremely supportive and incorporated our unique requests, such as cake smashing!

The venue looked amazing when…

The spectacular glass-roofed conservatory was styled beautifully to celebrate our first meal together as husband and wife.

The food was…

Divine, from the canapés right through to the dessert. The chef’s glazed ham supper stole the show after loads of high-energy dancing.

Decorating tips?…

We let the natural beauty of the location do most of the work and simply added some flowers and candles. The library was set up as a whiskey bar and the sitting room featured a photo booth with props to create a fun flow for guests moving between rooms.

On the day…

Staff showed excellent attention to detail and created a fun, relaxed atmosphere for our family and friends.

The best photo locations around the venue…

Were the old schoolhouse, a sun-dappled grove of trees and under the Gabbinbar tree
in the evening. We enjoyed swanning around
the gardens like celebrities, watching our guests enjoy canapés, garden games and mulled wine.

Our guests especially enjoyed…

The professional staff who catered for their every need throughout the day. We all agreed it was the best venue ever visited.

What off-site accommodation was close by?

Gabbinbar Homestead is only a 10-minute drive from Toowoomba, where there are many hotels, motels, B&Bs and self-catering holiday houses.

Three words about the venue?

Stunning, inspirational, superb.

I will always remember…

Standing at the entrance to the homestead with my father. From there I could see Pete and his father, who was performing our ceremony, surrounded by our closest family and friends. The walk across the verandah and through the gorgeous garden gave me time to appreciate the special occasion.
