Perfect Place: Kathryn + Ash at EPICURE @ Brisbane City Hall

Sweethearts Kathryn and Ash tied the knot on 25 June, 2016 at the elegant Brisbane City Hall before celebrating with a beautiful reception, brought together by the venue’s EPICURE team. Kathryn shares what she loved about her special day.

Why did you choose this venue?
“It was everything we ever dreamed of – a unique heritage building in the heart of Brisbane, such easy access to transport, accommodation options and parking for our guests.”

Did the menu influence your decision?
“The menu was divine! As a foodie, it was hard to select just two options for each course. We loved the lamb entrée.”

Tell us about your decorations…
“The Brisbane Room has the most elegant fitout, [so] paired with the style of the room we only needed minimal decorations. We had flowers as centrepieces to finish it off.”

What’s the most unique thing about the venue?
“The breathtaking grand marble staircases in the foyer – they’re the perfect place for wedding photos.”

Did the venue help you resolve any problems or challenges?
“Deciding on the menu, as there were so many gorgeous options available! The chef went out of his way to select options that would best suit our guests.”

What’s the best piece of advice the venue gave you?
“Our wedding coordinator promised to take care of everything and told me to leave it in their hands. I had such peace of mind knowing my wedding was in such capable hands – so that we could just enjoy our day.”

What’s the one thing you’d tell other couples considering this venue?
“Make full use of City Hall – there are so many hidden places for photos, it’s not just a reception venue!”

The most memorable feedback from your guests?
“All our guests commented that the food was beyond amazing, and the day was simply magical.”

Your most precious memory?
“Saying our personal vows to each other.”
