Perfect Place: Walkabout Creek

Newlyweds Tim and Erika share with the QB team details of their special day at Walkabout Creek and why they loved it so much.

What we loved about the venue…
Walkabout Creek was able to host our entire day, which meant we didn’t need extra transport and there was no travel time between the ceremony and reception. The ceremony was held in beautiful parkland with endless photo opportunities, and the reception room felt very private and relaxing.

The food was…
Delicious and the portion sizes were just right. Our guests enjoyed the drinks package and had nothing but compliments for the kitchen staff.

The best photo locations around the venue…
Were on the walking tracks throughout the parkland – tall trees and green vines created stunning light for our photographs. The wide, open lake also made a beautiful backdrop.

We decorated with…
Unveiling Poppy decorated the arch at our ceremony with gorgeous floral arrangements, and the reception venue was filled with an abundance of fairy lights, candles and silk flowers – which our bridal party helped us set up.

What off-site accommodation was close by?
Oxygen Apartments at Spring Hill are only about a 20-minute drive from Walkabout Creek. Our bridal party and out-of-town guests stayed there in two- and three-bedroom apartments that offered plenty of room for getting ready and great lighting for photos.
