QB: How did you meet?

We met in a Nightclub in Cairns.

QB: Tell us about the proposal.

Sean wanted to start our holiday to New Zealand engaged, so he decided to propose at the Brisbane International Airport, at the boarding gate in front of everyone.

QB: Why did you choose Lake Placid for your wedding?

We chose Lake Placid for our wedding because we live in paradise, Cairns. With so many beautiful locations to choose from, this one was something different to what everyone else does. Plus we really wanted the reception at Alessandro’s, which overlooks the lake.

When we chose the reception location it was to undergoing renovations and was due to be finished months before the wedding, of course they did not finish. So last minute we made do and moved the ceremony 50 metres up the path with a team of family helpers the morning of the wedding, although it was a bit rough terrain the pictures turned out better than I could have ever expected with that backdrop.

QB: Did you opt to DIY anything for your wedding?

I love DIY and this was a huge part of our day! My Mum, Karen, made these cute ‘I love you’ origami flowers, for our guests to take home. Mum also made  our daughter Mia’s flower girl dress. All our table settings were DIY, we decorated our own mason jars, did our own flowers for the tables, printed the menus, and created the candy buffet which our guests could take home as their favour. We even had a handmade table runner, which the guests could sign and leave us beautiful messages during the reception.

QB: What did you splurge on and what did you save on for your wedding?

We splurged on our videographers, Rayner Productions and we flew our Photographer Anna Osetroff up from Brisbane for our special day.

We saved on our cake, Mother of the Bride made our rustic, four layer caramel and chocolate mud cake.

QB: What gifts did you give your guests?

Candy buffet and ‘I Love You’ origami flowers.

QB: What was the funniest moment of the day?

While taking our photos out in the cane fields, our bridal party was dancing on the train tracks.

QB: What was the most special memory from the day?

It was all special but one stand out memory was walking down the aisle and seeing my husband-to-be holding our baby girl, it melted my heart!

QB: What did you do for your honeymoon?

We had a ‘familymoon’ to Port Douglas for a week.

QB: What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Get the videographer otherwise you will regret it and some advise given to me was not everything will go to plan, but you are probably the only one who will realise it.
