Gatsby-glam, intimate and sheer romance are words to describe this couple’s stunning wedding at Noosa Heads. QB: How did you meet?

Jacob and I met when we were 16 online. We started chatting and instantly had a connection. We decided to meet up after a few months by sneaking into the movies together. I had butterflies the moment I saw him and we have been inseparable ever since!

QB: Tell us about the proposal.

It was our 8 year anniversary and I wanted nothing more than a big sparkler on my finger but Jacob assured me it wouldn’t be for a while yet. He took me away to the Gold coast for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and we had a great time just relaxing, I didn’t suspect a thing! I was getting ready for dinner and when I walked out, a cute song was playing and Jacob was standing out by the window overlooking the ocean. He asked me to come over and started telling me how much he loved me then pulled out a little wooden love heart box with our names engraved on it with an amazing ring inside. He asked me to be his wife and I was crying uncontrollably, it was a magical moment.

QB: Why did you choose Novotel Twin Waters for your wedding?

We both love Noosa. We have spent many holidays there since we were young. It has that beautiful relaxing beach aspect, lush gardens and some of the best restaurants in the world. Perfection!

QB: What did you do for your hen’s and buck’s?

For my hens, my girls surprised me with a holiday at the Gold coast. We then went to dinner and danced the night away.

The boys went into the city and all I know is that alot of drinks were involved.

QB: Did you opt to DIY anything for your wedding?

My Now husband is an amazing Graphic designer to all out invitations were done ourselves and they looked amazing! We also did our place card, seating plans ect. Our favours were macarons which we individually boxed and and tied with black ribbon.

QB: What was your key styling inspiration?

I really wanted an intimate, romantic feel with luxury elements like the Gatsby.

QB: What did you splurge on and what did you save on for your wedding?

We splurged on the venue, I believe it’s the foundation for the whole wedding. We saved alot by having so many family and friends willing to pitch in. Our cake and flowers were done by Jacobs amazing neighbours, our wedding singer was Jacobs friend, our stylist was a family friend and we booked things well in advance to allow time for shopping around and negotiating.

QB: What gifts did you give your guests?

All of our guests received little macarons. Raspberry and salted caramel, they’re our favourite.

QB: What was the funniest moment of the day?

When Jacob started crying as he was reading me his vows, and I punched him in the arm! I knew that I’d start crying too and I didn’t want to ruin my makeup.

QB: What was the most special memory from the day?

We drove from our ceremony to the reception together. We then read what each other had secretly engraved on our wedding rings, it was a special moment.

QB: What did you do for your honeymoon?

We spent a week in Queenstown snuggling by a fire place, having snowball fights and eating our weight in doughnuts and hot chocolate.

QB: Special thanks to…

To our family and friends who supported us to create the most perfect day!

QB: What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Do what you want! This is your day and if you spend time trying to please everyone else you are going to regret not having the day you’ve always dreamed about! This only happens once enjoy every moment and try not to stress. It all works out on the day… trust me!
