Wedding Rings

Real proposal story: Priyam + Mitch

When Priyam Jha left her beloved, Mitch Green, in charge of the plans for a weekend away in Sydney, little did she know it would end in a marriage proposal. A sunset walk in a park took the couple down a path lined with candles inside loveheart-adorned paper bags (accompanied by fountain fireworks!). They paved the way to a pier where Mitch dropped to one knee and asked the big question. Following Priyam’s “yes” and a short fireworks show just for them, the happy couple dined at Priyam’s favourite restaurant, Quay.

The engagement ring: a 1.1ct diamond in an asymmetric band from Xennox Diamonds

The ring

“Priyam wanted an asymmetrical band in white gold,” says Mitch, “so I worked with our jeweller to design the perfect ring. I initially went to Xennox Diamonds (who did the wedding bands for my brother and his wife) to learn about the four Cs of diamonds. Our contact, Rob, was an incredible help as well as being a genuinely great guy. I ended up choosing a 1.1ct diamond. The resulting ring is truly unique, and exactly the right style for Priyam – and the wedding band we had made later fits it perfectly!”

Top tip

“Communication! Talk to each other and look at rings and stones together – surprises are fun, but this is a very significant purchase and is something that she’ll wear every day for the rest of her life, so you want it to be just right.”
