How did you meet?

Travis and I met in a bar in Indooroopilly, Brisbane. Trav noticed me from across the room and we caught each other’s eye. We have been inseparable since!

Tell us about the proposal…

Travis proposed to me on one knee at our new house that was getting built at the time in Toowong, Brisbane. The house was completely empty and our voices echoed as we spoke. It was such a beautiful moment.

Why did you choose Maleny Manor for your wedding?

Maleny Manor is Australian Bridal Industry Awards’ number one venue in Australia for weddings. I actually didn’t know this at the time when I was booking it, but learnt this as people asked where I was getting married. I didn’t visit any other venues after I visited Maleny Manor. The staff were so professional and so extremely friendly. I just knew it would be a gorgeous day.

What did you do for your hens and bucks?

My bridesmaids organised the most amazing hens night I think anyone could have ever had. It was a complete surprise. They organised at my house the day I was out getting my trial for my hair and makeup done. They printed personalised cocktail menus, decorated the entire house, put on great music and hired a sexy male waiter. They had platters of food organised and games, games, games! Travis’ bucks was fairly less organised but he still had a great night out in the city with his groomsmen and best friends.

DIY Details

I organised the table numbers, table seating cards, clips, and the menus. I also put together a tree where I hung table names so people could see where they were sitting.

Key Styling Inspiration

Classic and chic. Modern and clean, yet a little country as we were in Maleny.

What gifts did you give your guests?

Our guests received two little chocolate hearts and a poem.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

Funniest moment had to be when our groomsmen and bridesmaids snuck behind a tree while Travis and I were having photos taken and photobombed us! They actually turned out to be really amazing shots.

What was the most special memory from day?

The entire day was filled with so many special moments! The most special memory that I will hold close to me was when Travis was saying his vows to me. I couldn’t stop crying. I was then speechless when I had to say mine and all of the guests cried as they watched how deeply in love we were. I finally got through it. I choked on a few words but in the end, managed to say them.

What did you do for your honeymoon?

We went to Bali! We played with monkeys, went white water rafting, lazed by the pool, visited markets and ate lots of authentic Balinese food!

Special thanks to…

Special thanks would have to go to Maleny Manor for such an amazing day. It truly was a perfect wedding.

What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Do not stress! Your day will end up being the best day of your life and I’m not just saying that. It really is the best day of your life. Don’t let anything get to you too much. Organise as much as you can before the wedding so on the day you don’t have to do anything at all but relax and have fun!
