Real Wedding: Caitlin and Matthew

  |

This unique and beautiful wedding upon the Fig Tree Deck was the perfect setting for this adorable couple to say their vows. Upon first meeting at a primary school the couple worked at, these two teachers knew they were destined for each other. A luscious green backdrop, fresh florals, twinkling lights and simply the cutest flower girl and page boy duo were a special touch to their big day. The couples’ smiling faces and their guests look of pure joy say it all.

How did you meet?

We met when I started working as a teacher in January 2013 at a school where Matt had been working for five and a half years.

Tell us about the proposal…

Matt proposed in December on a special holiday in Iceland. After climbing up an icy and slippery stairway to the top of the beautiful, glistening Skógafoss waterfall, Matt dropped down on one knee and asked for my hand in marriage.

Why did you choose your venue?

It was a stunning and unique.

Where did you splurge and where did you save?

We splurged on the wedding dress and saved on having a small intimate wedding.

What was your special memory from the day?

The Instagram frame and polaroid camera used for guests to take photos and add to the guest book with a message for the bride and groom.

What was your key styling inspiration?

Simple with lots of fresh flowers.

What did you do for your honeymoon?

We spent seven nights in an overwater bungalow at The Hilton Moorea, French Polynesia.

Do you have any advice for other brides-to-be?

On the day, take some private time to soak in the experience with your new spouse.
