Real Wedding: Carolina & Leo

We feel like we have shared the wedding journey with this gorgeous couple. Carolina Papadimitriou was our online blogger in the lead-up to her big day, giving us the inside scoop on everything from engagement partying and gown shopping to thoughts on her sweetheart, Leo Skouros. So we were so excited to see everything turn out so beautifully! Perfectly timed with the roses blooming in New Farm Park (how gorgeous are these shots by Studio Impressions!) their wedding combined elegant detailing with a party atmosphere. Congratulations Carolina and Leo x QB

How did you meet?

We were introduced to eachother by a family friend

Tell us about the proposal…

We had a weekend away at the Gold Coast for my birthday. We were all dressed up in our beautiful hotel room when I turned to Leo and asked ‘do I look okay?’ He looked at me and said ‘no I think there’s something missing’ He put my beautiful ring on my finger. We celebrated with dinner calling everyone closest to us to share the wonderful news.

Why did you choose The Greek Orthodox Church of St George and Moda Events Portside for your wedding?

We were christened at our church and it is very traditional & beautiful & Moda has a fabulous reputation for it’s stunning views of the water, a large open plan with plenty of room to dance, professionalism & delicious food.

What did you do for your hens and bucks?

For my hens night I had a Sex and the City theme in the Brisbane city and the boys had a night out on the Gold Coast.

DIY Details

A stress free time was important to us. Tessa from Polka Dot Events ensured everything was perfect. She made quite a few of the small details such as custom bling on napkins and decorating favours.

Key Styling Inspiration

Less is more. Chic, timeless and unforgettable.

What did you splurge on and what did you save on for your wedding?

We splurged on our photographer, wedding gown, entertainment and honeymoon.

What gifts did you give your guests?

Beautiful glass cupcake domes with traditional sugared almonds in white glossy gift bags, a special fire performance on our entrance, a custom slideshow of our day & fire canons when we cut our cake.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

Our little nephew Christopher walking down the aisle in perfect form and getting nervous when he saw our priest and Leo’s ring getting stuck as it was placed on his right hand during our ceremony (It was custom fit for his left hand). Luckily with some oil it came off.

What was the most special memory from the day?

Seeing Leo’s face light up when I walked down the aisle and seeing father Dimitri unexpectedly stop to say some beautiful words about Leo and I which he has only done twice in over 20 years!

What did you do for your honeymoon?

Relaxed in the Maldives.

Special thanks to…

Our family and friends for all their love and support.

What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Book a hair and makeup trial prior to your wedding and make sure you have some pamper days leading up to your big day. You will need it!
