My bridesmaids all lived interstate or overseas and before the wedding didn't get a chance to see me in my dress.  I also didn't get a chance to see them all dressed in their colours together.  Here is the moment they saw me for the first time.

Our muriel was a big hit with our friends and family.

Our mural was a big hit with our friends and family.

I changed for the reception.  I wanted to be comfortable not too hot and have the ability to move around easily.  It was the best decision I made I loved my short dress.

How did you meet?
At a wedding. So weddings are something extra special to us.

Tell us about the proposal…
Jarrad asked me to dance in our living room to our favourite song before we went out for a beautiful dinner. I love to dance and he hates to dance so dancing didn’t really ever happen for us together. Turns out he had been planning to dance with me in his proposal for quite some time and said no at previous weddings and events to make it even more special. It was amazing and private and I loved it. We dance a lot together now.

DIY Details
We did almost everything ourselves. We put the marquee together, we made the table runners, we made the vases, the wedding dress, the flower girls dress, the flowers, the aisle runner and the decorations. We had DIY days for weeks leading up to the wedding.

Key Styling Inspiration
We were married in the park where my parents were also married. We served fairy floss and popcorn and had an ice-cream truck serve canapes before the reception. We had someone paint a caricature Mural of both Jarrad and myself with our heads cut out which was a big hit in the garden party.

Funniest Moment
I am a musical theatre lover and my Mum had made programs for our ceremony in the style of a Broadway show program. It was a complete surprise to me she had got everyones headshot and stories on how they knew us. I walked down the aisle and everyone was holding them. I couldn’t believe it.

Special Memory
Our flower girl was one of our best friends little girl. Jordan was born on the day that Jarrad and I were engaged and we loved having her start our wedding. It’s as special for us that we were able to have her as part of our wedding.

Special Thanks
To my Mum Sonia (brides Mum) not only did she make my dress, she also did everything in her power to make the wedding of my dreams. She spent hours upon hours up late at night fixing bridesmaid dresses, she painted over 100 jars for vases and ran to the cake shop with rollers in her hair on the morning of the wedding when my cake showed up wrong. I love you Mum!

What advice do you have for future brides-to-be?
If you want to do something slightly different with your day don’t be scared! I had different colour bridesmaids dresses and so many people expressed their doubts if it would work. I knew thats what I wanted and I was so happy I followed my heart.
