How did you meet?

We met through RSVP. All of our friends are married so going out to meet someone was not ideal, we both were reluctant to try internet dating and after a few months of meeting we fell in love.

Tell us about the proposal…

We met through RSVP. All of our friends are married so going out to meet someone was not ideal, we both were reluctant to try internet dating and after a few months of meeting we fell in love.

DIY Details

We had to organise the entire wedding ourselves as it was at the showgrounds and we had to transform it into a Vintage Circus Carnival – Imagine Water for Elephants. We hired lights, marque, fairyfloss and popcorn machine. We bought all the glasses and alcohol and lots of props. We also used tried to personalise it by using close friends and family’s jars, vases etc.

Key Styling Inspiration

Marty and I are pretty much the last ones of our family and friends o get married so we wanted something unique and memorable. We had market style catering – Yiros, Wood Fire Pizza and Hot Food Van to create a carnival feel and the reception was outside amongst the trees to create a romantic vintage feel. The weather was perfect for us.

Special thanks to…

Jaye Wolfe from Fabled and True, Kellie Wolfe from Vinage Bells, Sammy Kurtz for our gorgeous hair and makeup, Sarah Fountain for photography, Susan and Anne Vintage Flair for amazing deserts, Locky for being the best musician, John and Gina from King Yiros, Deb Porter from Alfresco Woodfire.

What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Enjoy very second as you are only doing it once, don’t sweat the small things and remember to breathe.
