How did you meet?

Wesley and I met on eHarmony! We had both never tried internet dating before and decided to give it a go, we were each other’s first date and both had an escape plan. From the moment I walked in and saw Wesley’s big smile and cute dimples I knew I was a goner, we shared the perfect first date and the rest as they say is history.

Tell us about the proposal…

We decided to have a weekend away in Noosa, little did I know this would be where Wesley was planning to propose to me. On the day we arrived we checked into our hotel and then went for a walk along the Noosa National Park. This walk was beautiful with the stunning ocean on one side and the rainforest on the other. After 20 minutes I noticed that Wesley’s backpack was open and when I told him he freaked out. I was completely oblivious that he thought he dropped the ring! Soon after Wesley said that we should stop for a break. We sat down on the rocks overlooking the ocean and the afternoon sun starting to set, Wesley passed me a cider to drink and then before I could finish my sip he was on one knee asking if I would be his wife! Magical.

Why did you choose Boomerang Farm for your wedding?

We totally fell in love with Boomerang Farm for our ceremony and reception venue. The grounds are gorgeous we choose to hold our ceremony under the rainforest canopy area with a giant old tree as our backdrop which held a huge tree house so totally enchanting.

The grounds also have a golf course and throughout the property there are numerous Jacaranda trees which give these beautiful bursts of lilac, so there’s no need to go anywhere else for photographs.

Our reception was held in their barn which is over 100 years old, you just can’t theme a venue to hold such character as this… right down to the resident possum who graced us with his presence during the evening.

DIY Details

I own my own events company so planning was a breeze. I say almost but I had to actually get the groom to do a few things!

Key Styling Inspiration

Because of the beautiful unique location the style was obvious, rustic and vintage and I really just wanted to complement this.

What gifts did you give your guests?

We decided to donate money to a charity close to our hearts.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

The funniest moment by far would be my father’s speech, he really nailed it everyone was crying with laughter!

What was the most special memory from the day?

There really is so many amazing memories of the day but the one I truly remember and will treasure in my heart always was looking into Wesley’s eyes as he said his vows which he had written.

What did you do for your honeymoon?

We decided to have two honeymoons, the first was to a resort in the Maldives where we stayed in an overwater bungalow. The second was flying off to New York on Boxing Day for eight nights and spending New Year’s Eve in Time Square then off to Utah snowboarding for two weeks.

Special thanks to…

Michael-John Hurney our celebrant who made the ceremony so intimate and special.

Amber Moratti for making me and my bridesmaids feel and look beautiful with her hair and make-up skills.

All Round Caterers for their delicious food and 5 star service, I remember looking around the room during dinner and the plates looked like they had been licked clean!

Radio Club Band especially Josh for learning a new song on the Ukulele for me to walk down the aisle to and the entire band for an evening of amazing music, the guests are still talking about the band.

Greg Gardener who worked from 8am till 12pm working tirelessly to capture our day for us.

What advice would give other brides-to-be?

Make sure you hire a wedding planner or at least have one there on the day to organise your suppliers, you do not want to be dealing with that on your special day. There will be highs and lows on your road to planning your special day, but don’t loose sight of the reason you are on this path in the first place. On the day soak it up, every last drop!
