How did you meet?

We were set up on a blind date by mutual friends.

Tell us about the proposal…

After spending the morning at one of our favourite beaches up the Sunshine Coast, Andrew pointed out to me what looked like a glass bottle with a message inside, slightly buried in the sand. When I finished reading the beautiful note he had made for me, I looked up and he was on one knee with a ring in his hand!

Why did you choose Noosa for your wedding?

We love the Sunshine Coast and Noosa especially; it has some of the most beautiful wedding locations. We were married on the long weekend and knew that our guests would make the most of being in Noosa and stay there for a mini break away!

What did you do for your hens and bucks?

We both had great nights out with friends to celebrate.

DIY Details

I made most of the decorations myself and loved the opportunity to be creative and make our day as personal to us as possible.

Key Styling Inspiration

We wanted a relaxed beach feel that was a little rustic, intimate and personal.

Where did you splurge and where did you save on your wedding?

We saved on everything that I had made or sourced myself and were then able to spend more on great photography and a fantastic reception.

What gifts did you give your guests did you give your guests?

We had a lolly buffet set up at the reception so guests could enjoy some sweets throughout the night, and also take some home in their own little paper bags. We also gave everyone an air plant (our ‘love fern’ if you will!), and for the guests from overseas, a beautiful tinned candle.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

The speeches were great and our ceremony gave a few good laughs! Our celebrant did a great job incorporating some funny moments Andrew and I have shared, and our vows were personal but also light-hearted.

What was the most special memory from the day?

We spent four weeks exploring Canada and New York. Trip of a lifetime!

Special thanks to…

Our parents first and foremost, my beautiful girlfriends for their support, to all of our lovely friends and family for sharing our special day with us, and for the well wishes from loved ones that couldn’t be there. And of course we couldn’t have done it without our amazing wedding vendors, thank you, thank you, thank you!

What advice would give future brides-to-be?

Enjoy every moment, don’t sweat the small stuff and if things don’t go perfectly well at least you will have a great story to tell the grandkids one day!
