Stunning spring styling inspiration to elevate your look!

Spring Styling Inspiration for a wedding

Up your spring styling with a fresh pastel palette, dreamy romantic details, and a Queensland wedding venue with the most glorious vistas. True to its name, The Lookout Woodbury occupies a top spot just north of Yeppoon, offering sweeping ocean, mountain and rural views. For this styled shoot, owner and events coordinator, Michelle Ludwig and her team put the scenery on show while launching the venue’s new styling packages — with Grey Skies Photographics and Tamara Porter Photography on hand to capture the day’s highlights. We’re drinking it all in, from the touch of whimsy to the dreamy sunset toasts.

Grab a little inspiration for your outdoor wedding dreams as Michelle clues us in on celebrating ‘love is love’ in this spectacular location.

Style me pretty

We wanted to enter the realm of wedding styling with a bang and showcase to Central Queensland (and beyond) the level of luxury, elegance and wow factor that our talented stylists can create. Wedding styling and design truly is our love language.

The overall theme was ‘pastel, whimsical garden romance’. We drew inspiration from our two models and created a soft and feminine aesthetic, from the curved ceremony seating and the round ripple plinths in the arbour feature to the soft oval shape of the reception seating plan and the dainty bows adorning the menus.

Pastel perfection

We have seen the classic, timeless all-white palette repeatedly, but we also noticed the bright and bold ‘colour-pop’ palette gaining popularity. So, we thought, why not fuse these equally beautiful palettes?

We aimed to keep everything white, from the furniture to the table linen, and introduce colour through the florals and finer details such as stationery. Instead of vibrant colours, we chose pastels—lilac, baby blue, apricot, lemon yellow, and various pink tones—as these muted, softer hues complemented our soft and feminine aesthetic more appropriately.

Love is love at The Lookout

We also wanted to use this as an opportunity to celebrate our LGBTQIA+ community. You rarely see a same-sex couple featuring in a styled shoot. We are passionate believers and advocates of ‘love is love’, and so this styled shoot is also a nod to our queer community. We want everyone to feel seen. Here at The Lookout, we welcome all with open arms and we hold a safe space for everyone. Shout out to our models, Melissa & Chloe, who are real-life wives and mums here in our hometown of Yeppoon. You ladies are an inspiration to many.

Dream team

The Lookout would like to thank the incredibly talented team of local vendors who contributed their time, services and skills to bring our vision and this styled shoot to life. We are beyond grateful.

A special shout-out to Shannon Hawkes Artisan Florals for designing and providing the most stunning silk and fresh flower arrangements, which completed the whole look of the shoot and tied everything together. Chef’s kiss! A massive thank you to Fielding Milligan, who created some of the most beautiful and unique wedding stationery we’ve ever seen. So much thought and creative passion went into every tiny detail. We are still swooning!

Lastly, a huge heartfelt thank you to the two highly skilled photographers, Grey Skies Photographics and Tamara Porter Photography, who captured the whole day. Without pictures, it wouldn’t have happened, and your photos are beyond!
