For sweethearts Amtaaj and Chris, family has always been very important. So when the two became engaged, they dreamed of a glamorous wedding centred around celebrating with their loved ones. “We wanted our special day to be spent with our nearest and dearest,” says Amtaaj.  And so, with family travelling all the way from India, Dubai and Canada, the two planned a dazzling wedding filled with amazing memories and traditions.

When the special day came round, everything kicked off at 4am – yes, a.m. – with Amtaaj getting ready for the morning ceremony. “It was a very long process, but so worth it,” she laughs. Looking utterly stunning, the bride tied the knot with Chris at the Woolgoolga Sikh Temple, and celebrated the occasion with an opulent reception styled by Chandni Events. “The decorations were just amazing! I was absolutely blown away.”

After a night of dancing, Amtaaj and Chris took part in one last tradition. “The groom’s party came to my home for the Doli, where the bride is farewelled from her home by her family before she starts her life at the groom’s home,” says Amtaaj. “After I had left I received videos of my nieces and nephews crying because Chris had taken their aunty away! It was so sweet!”

An incredible celebration with a strong focus on family, the wedding of Amtaaj and Chris was one to remember. “We couldn’t imagine a more special day,” says Amtaaj. “It’s something we’ll always look back on and cherish.”

Most special memory? “The Doli was very special and emotional as I’m very close with my family. It was a very surreal day, but also very happy.”

Any advice for brides-to-be?  “Set a budget and work out what’s most important to you for your special day.”
