Queensland Brides: A modern Queensland wedding brand with a trusted heritage

Since launching its first print edition in 1984, Queensland Brides has maintained its standing with the Queensland wedding industry and couples as the most trusted local source for anyone planning a wedding in Queensland. As a forum for showcasing the best wedding experts in the state and sharing wedding news and practical planning advice, Queensland Brides speaks directly to couples, informing and inspiring their journey with engaging content and covering everything from veils to venues.

As the local authority in Queensland weddings, the magazine is complemented by a high-performing website, queenslandbrides.com.au. The best wedding products and services are showcased here via editorial curation, a vendor directoryreal weddings, image galleriesstyled shoots, and vendor portfolios. Our regular social drops of inspiration via Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook help ensure couples can access Queensland wedding content wherever and whenever they choose.

Then and now ...

Originally launched as a print edition (Wedding Vows for the Queensland Bride), it was the first magazine to showcase Queensland’s wedding industry while being produced locally, rather than in Sydney or Melbourne. The brand has always been a family affair. Founded by Graphic Publishing (led by Rhonda Bannister, her sister Karen Wright, and brother-in-law Colin Wright), Rhonda became the sole owner and managing director in 1989. Her three daughters later joined, helping shape the female-led company into one of Australia’s premier lifestyle publishers, with print, digital, and social media brands serving weddings, homemaking, romantic travel, and destination weddings.

Today, Queensland Brides continues as a family legacy under Nikki Ernst (middle daughter), who acquired sole ownership of the brand in 2023. Nikki oversees the production of two editions each year and the Queensland Brides Wedding Expo, Brisbane’s most stylish wedding event, now hosted twice a year at the iconic Brisbane City Hall.

In 2026, Queensland Brides introduced a Print-on-Demand feature, allowing readers to create their own printed copies of each edition. Each lovingly curated edition and event champions the very best of Queensland’s wedding industry, featuring exceptional products and services, inspiring real weddings, and engaging editorial content, all tailored for modern couples planning their big day.

With its powerful combination of digital, social, live events, and direct marketing, Queensland Brides proudly continues after nearly four decades as the state’s number-one wedding media brand.
