A bridesmaid is part stylist, part logistics coordinator, part emotional support system. The role has grown well beyond simply standing beside the bride, and the best bridesmaids understand that early.
Before the wedding

- Helping the bride choose her dress, or at least weighing in when asked
- Attending dress fittings and coordinating bridesmaid outfits
- Supporting hen’s night planning, even when someone else is hosting
- Being a steady, calm presence as wedding stress builds
On the wedding day

- Helping the bride get ready: hair, makeup timing, final touches
- Managing the bride’s dress: bustling, train adjustments, bathroom logistics
- Carrying essentials in an emergency kit (safety pins, tissues, touch up makeup)
- Holding the bouquet during the ceremony and keeping things on schedule
Choosing your bridesmaids
There’s no set number and no rule that says bridesmaids need to be the same age, dress size or friendship group. The common thread that matters: pick people who show up, stay calm under pressure and genuinely want to be there for you.
A good bridesmaid isn’t just in the photos. She’s the reason the day runs on time.
