Indooroopilly Golf Club wedding of Ally and Tim

Date: 22 February 2020

Love with these two was a guaran-TEE – and their wedding hosted at Indooroopilly Golf Club was the perfect spot to say I do.

Ally and Tim say they met the modern way – on a dating app. But their love turned into one that will last a lifetime. Ally recalls that on their first date, Tim whipped up his signature roast potatoes. And when it came time to pop the question? Tim followed on the advice of classic love stories and plucked the ring from a fruit bowl while the two were enjoying city views on a holiday in Singapore!

Between Tim’s love for golf and their shared desire to have a wedding ceremony surrounded by nature, our lovebirds knew that an outdoor wedding was an absolute must. When they found that Indooroopilly Golf Club not only hosted weddings on its perfectly manicured land but also had an experienced team to help them every step of the way, they knew they had found their perfect venue. Ally recalls that while there were simply too many incredible moments of their big day to mention, she noted that their “time on the golf course taking photos around some magical trees was special.” The two were overjoyed that they would be able to have their reception at the same location as their outdoor ceremony and officially tied the knot on 22 February 2020.

Family was an important part of the wedding day for Ally and Tim; “Ally’s uncle conducted our ceremony,” says Tim. “It meant a lot to both of us, and he added a great dose of humour.” The newlyweds also said uniting with their loved ones was such an important part of their celebration: “Having our closest friends and family in one place, great food –” how about that Brownie wedding cake? YUM! – “and plenty of laughs made for a fantastic time that seemed to pass in the blink of an eye.” The couple danced all evening, with Ally making sure to snag a dance with her father to one of her parents’ favourite songs, “Brown-Eyed Girl.”

And the good times just kept rolling as their emcee hilariously directed guests to the restrooms using giant semaphore flags, the couple made sure to supply plenty of mid-strength beer, and their guests were gifted with Ally and Tim’s “three favourite teas and a classic Ally tea-themed pun.” We love!

Ally and Tim say that looking back, their venue of choice was simply perfect and there was nothing they would change about their wedding day! And when asked what advice they would offer other couples, they say to find a photographer you love, as you’ll be spending lots of time with them, and to “enjoy the process, focus on the big things, and [if you choose Indooroopilly Golf Club] let Steph and her team work their magic on everything else.”

Oh, and also… “don’t book an early-morning flight the next day to the honeymoon!”
