Lovers, welcome back!

Australia’s good fortune in managing the coronavirus has us embracing more weddings, more freedom and more fun this year. Hallelujah! And, while it’s fair to say that flexible expectations and quick transformations are the ‘new normal’ considerations of wedding planning, here at Queensland Brides, we have treasured seeing couples rise against the tides of the challenge to let their love take centre stage. Case in point: this issue’s collection of heartfelt and romantic celebrations, beginning on p.31.

Unsurprisingly, COVID-safe trends continue to be at the forefront of modern weddings, and to tell the truth, we love the influx of imaginative options springing up in the wake of the pandemic. From sweet, individual wedding cakes to fun anniversary receptions (the epic marry-now-and-party-later solution to a modified guest list) and more, the festivities of the future continue to shine bright. For our top pick of the trends and ideas to embrace, turn to p.117.

Of course, forced small-scale celebrations were a major trend shift last year, yet even as restrictions lift around the country, intimate weddings are still a popular option. And we totally get it! Far beyond the advantages of easy social distancing, a scaled-down celebration can offer couples more freedom and, quite likely, less financial and family pressure. The opportunities to create a day that truly reflects you as a couple, surrounded only by your nearest and dearest and oftentimes in a spectacular location that would not be possible with a larger guest list, are positively endless. Enticed? Head straight to p.98 and discover our round-up of impressive elopement and small-wedding experts to help you design your intimate ‘I do’.

Enjoy our Autumn/Winter 2021 edition!

Warm regards,
