How Kelly + Josiah transformed The Joinery into a wedding wonderland

Opting to go all-out with styling, Kelly and Josiah searched for a venue that would let their attention-to-detail shine against a simple (but still totally beautiful) backdrop. Won over by The Joinery in West End, the two tied the knot surrounded by loved ones and celebrated in, well, serious style.

Fans of the industrial look, Kelly and Josiah trusted a team of talented event suppliers, such as AVIdeas & Kate Dawes Flower Design to bring their vision to life. Adorning the venue’s modern space with luscious greenery, grand wreath hanging installations, crisp white florals, candles, geometric touches and golden accents, the two transformed The Joinery into – as the venue describes it – an enchanted forest with a modern twist. “The raw, industrial look of the space provided a striking contrast against the dreamy, romantic styling,” says Kelly. “The Joinery’s flexibility meant that we could completely customise the space to exactly what we dreamed of.”

Complementing the luxe feel of the day, the couple topped everything off with a sensational gourmet feast – think Victorian lamb rack with salsa verde, grilled vegetable stack and sweet potato mash; and organic chicken breast filled with haloumi, baby spinach and semi-dried tomato. We’ll take a serving of both, please!

One truly impressive celebration, Kelly and Josiah’s wedding was exactly what they always wanted. “The venue’s team made the whole planning process so simple and easy,” says Kelly. “The Joinery was definitely the perfect place to celebrate our big day.”
