How to host an engagement party with big-fun vibes and cool retro touches

etre marie bridal boutique engagement party on the gold coast

Party vibes were peaking when être marié bridal boutique owner Georgia and her sweetheart Mitchell celebrated their engagement at Barrow in the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Billed as a ‘Tough Love’ soirée (more on that below), a super-cute styled shoot by Coastal Elopes and Moonshine Lovers segued into a cocktail shindig for the couple and their nearest and dearest. It was big-fun vibes with cool retro touches topped off with fluffy florals, espresso martinis, and the sweetest buttercream cake from Yum Bakery. Case in point: guests could leave their love via a handsome 1950s-style telephone/audio guest book or old-school in a gorgeous custom guest book. The best!

And the bride-to-be? She was having an awesome mini moment in a custom gown from her gorgeous Gold Coast bridal boutique.

We gave Georgia three quick-fire questions on her loved-up day. Congrats you two stunners.

Okay, so we need to know about the name!
My fiancé’s last name is Tough, so we ran with ‘Tough Love’ for the theme/hashtag/tag lines.

Tell us about your venue …
It was a beautiful hinterland venue called Barrow, with canapés, cocktails, and our closest friends.

And your dress (so cute!)?
I wore a custom dress from one of my stockists, Hayley Maree Couture.
