Well, hello 2019! First up, congratulations to all our couples getting married this year – with special mention to those celebrating a new-year engagement. I’m not going to lie, planning a wedding is a big deal but don’t stress, as with the right resources (ahem, Queensland Brides!) and realistic expectations (we’re looking at you, Pinterest), your beautiful wedding will be unforgettable for all the right reasons.

A good starting point is to check out the newlyweds who have just been there and done that, and in this issue, we’re pleased to share some incredible wedding stories! There’s the sweet, low-key celebrations, including a relaxed DIY wedding and an intimate dinner party-style gathering, and then there’s the extravagant events, like the gala for 300+ guests, an elegant, culture-rich winery wedding and an uber-chic country affair on a private property. Take a flip through – you’re bound to pick up a few tidbits of inspiration for your own dream day.

Particularly close to our hearts is the wedding of industry-insider Michael and his partner, Philip, who married in an intimate beachside celebration in Noosa. For a couple who very nearly didn’t have the chance to legally wed in Australia, we love how they embraced the things that mattered to them most – love, friends and family – in their stylish soirée.

Finally, after another sweltering Aussie summer, aren’t you just a little bit excited about the impending cool change? We certainly are. And, as we discover, there are some compelling reasons to plan a wedding during Queensland’s colder months.
