Wedding of Lauren + Paul

This couple’s love story had a slightly unconventional beginning. The friend of Lauren’s sister’s then-partner (still with us?), Paul met his now-wife at a party… when he was meant to be set up with someone else! “That night, my sister and her partner were going to try and set Paul up with another friend but l met him first,” laughs Lauren. “Paul soon realised that we had met the previous year when I joined my sister at his 30th birthday. We didn’t even say ‘hello’ to each other! After talking to Paul that night I knew that he was someone special who I wanted to get to know.” Three words – meant to be.

Going on to get engaged and tie the knot, Lauren and Paul celebrated their special day at Brisbane’s beautiful Old Government House. Originally planning to exchange vows in the venue’s outdoor courtyard, the two had to move the festivities inside thanks to a poorly-timed downpour. “As the bridal party arrived, the heavens opened and all the guests helped pick everything up and set it all up again inside,” says Lauren. “Our wedding day ended up being everything we dreamed of, though! We had our reception at the QPAC rooftop terrace which was absolutely amazing – good food, good wine and incredible views!”
