Cuisine on Cue

Tell us about yourself… what inspired you to become a caterer?
After years in corporate event management I wanted to pursue my passion for working more closely with food and wine, as well as the opportunity to work on a variety of events which included weddings! Cuisine on Cue was the perfect fit as its culture revolved around quality food and working closely with individual clients to deliver excellent service.

Walk us through your process from meeting the couple, to the big day.
Once an enquiry is made, one of our wedding coordinators will contact the client to have an initial chat and set up a meeting time and a visit to their chosen venue. Depending on what the client has already organised, we can help with the venue selection, hiring marquees, theming, flower arrangements and of course the menu! We can provide catering in a range of surroundings, whether you want your wedding in the comfort of your own home, or something outdoors at either a park or on the beach – whatever your decision, the team at Cuisine on Cue are here to support you every step of the way. We work closely with other industry professionals to make sure everything comes together seamlessly on the day so our brides don’t have to worry about a thing! We will always make sure to follow up with our lovely couples after the big day to ensure they enjoyed their wedding and everything was to the high standard Cuisine on Cue are known for.

Should the bridal couple offer a vegetarian and/or vegan option alongside meat entrées?
The bridal couple know their friends and family best to distinguish if this should be a requirement. Should you have any doubts, we would recommend you ask for your guest dietary requirements in advance, as this will allow us to design a menu that is specifically tailored for the occasion.

What is an ideal timeline for dinner courses?
A dinner course timeline varies between each wedding as it is very much dependent on the wedding venue. For a rough estimate, we would say the turnover times are around 30 minutes for entrée, and 45 minutes for mains. The timeline also depends on the style of event, for example, it will vary from a cocktail canapé stand up function to an alternate drop sit down dinner.

Are the bridal couple able to do a tasting of their preferred menu options prior to their wedding?
Most definitely! We encourage the bridal couple taste and explore different menu options for something that compliments the wedding style.

What should couples plan on their caterer being responsible for when it comes to set up, break down, etc?
At Cuisine on Cue we understand that your special day requires personalised attention, and this is why we are dedicated to extending our assistance far beyond catering. Our professional wedding planners work with industry partners to organise everything from flower arrangements to event styling.

Can you recommend some tasty options to serve guests for appetisers or entrées that won’t break the bank?
One of the best options for your wedding are shared platters. This way your guests can taste a range of different food options – based on our experience in the industry, we know that guests love the opportunity to taste everything!

What’s a reasonably small add-on that has the biggest impact that will make guests feel spoiled?
We suggest a dessert station. There has been a huge shift from traditional desserts to contemporary alternatives, particularly for weddings. It not only provides a greater experience for wedding guests, but it can easily be designed to tie into your wedding theme.

What’s the best part of your job?
We are fortunate enough to be part of one of the most important days in someone’s life. Our team love working closely with couples to help make their special day a truly memorable celebration.

Do you have a top wedding tip you’d like to share with couples?
When you are at the stage of planning your wedding, be sure to think about what matters to you most and think of ways you can incorporate this into the day. This could be a favourite food, location or memory you and your partner share together.
