Who is Brett Swain, and what makes you different from other wedding DJs?

Every wedding has its own rhythm, and that’s the philosophy behind every celebration I create.

No two couples are the same, no two groups of guests are the same, and no two weddings should ever feel the same. Rather than relying on a set playlist or repeating the same formula every weekend, I take the time to understand each couple, their story and the atmosphere they want to create.

On the day, that preparation comes together with the most important skill a wedding DJ can have: reading the room. Knowing when to lift the energy, when to slow things down and when to bring everyone back together is what creates a celebration that feels natural, effortless and unforgettable.

What can couples expect when they book you?

Every wedding starts with getting to know the couple. Long before the big day, we sit down together to talk through your vision, your music, your timeline and the atmosphere you want to create.

I don’t rely on standard playlists or cookie-cutter run sheets. Every celebration is planned around you, then brought to life by reading the room and adapting throughout the evening.

My goal is simple: to create a wedding that feels completely natural and unforgettable.

Cold Sparks and Dancing on a Cloud are two of my favourite ways to elevate key moments throughout the day.

Whether it’s your grand entrance, first dance or final song, these effects add another layer of atmosphere while looking incredible in photos and video. The best part is watching the reactions, not only from the couple, but from every guest in the room.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give every couple planning their wedding entertainment?

Choose someone you trust.

Music influences every part of your celebration, and the right DJ does far more than play songs. They help guide the atmosphere, work alongside your other suppliers and create moments your guests will remember long after the wedding is over.
