We were already won over by Rebecca and Matthew’s wedding just by looking at the photos, but when we saw that it was the groom who submitted it we were totally and utterly charmed. “She planned our day so perfectly and I thought she deserved a shout-out from her husband,” says Matthew. First of all – awww! Second of all – yes, Matthew, we’ll second that.
After rocking up in a gorgeous vintage car, Rebecca tied the knot with Matthew in a beautiful ceremony at Bundaberg’s Penny Lane Gardens surrounded by family and friends. Taking the super-cute car for a spin and escaping for a sunset photo session, the highschool sweethearts later returned to the venue for a fabulous reception under the stars. Enjoying an exquisite dinner with serious ‘family gathering’ vibes, the two went on to dance the night away and joined guests for a sweet anniversary dance. “We honoured all the married couples at our wedding by asking them to the dance-floor for a slow dance,” says Matthew. “Every 20 seconds or so, the MC (also my brother) would ask couples who had been married for five years or less to please leave the dance-floor, followed by couples together 10 years or less, until there was only one couple left. It was my maternal grandparents who just celebrated 56 years of marriage last year!” We’ll say it again – awww!
