real wedding tabitha aaron

Inseparable from the moment they met, Tabitha and Aaron’s love story is a classic romance.

Do you believe in love at first sight? Tabitha and Aaron’s story is evidence it exists. The couple met through a mutual friend who had an inkling they’d be great together. He was spot on. “Our friend, Mitch, had said to Aaron that he knew the perfect girl for him, so he got in contact with me, and we hit it off,” recalls Tabitha. “From the very beginning we have continued to be in our own love bubble. We moved in together after a few months; it didn’t feel rushed, it felt just right.”

Aaron proposed to Tabitha during a family holiday overseas, and took the traditional and respectful route of asking for her mother’s blessing beforehand. With family already in the know, he had to use some clever tactics to safeguard the surprise on the day.

Blindfolding his love, Aaron threw Tabitha off by putting them both in a taxi, even though his proposal spot was only a short walk away. “When we got to our destination, he ended up carrying me down a long pathway before placing me down, taking my hand and telling me to take off my blindfold,” says Tabitha. “So I did, to see him down on one knee, with this beautiful ring inside a box. Aaron asked me to marry him and I said yes, straight away. There were definitely tears of happiness … I just couldn’t believe it.”

Back at home, the wedding planning started with a search for the perfect ceremony and reception venue. Having already visited Flaxton Gardens in the Sunshine Coast hinterland for her sister’s baby shower, Tabitha knew that it could be their dream location.

“We had looked at a couple of venues online, but Aaron was sold on Flaxton Gardens as soon as we visited the place. He loved the location, the view, how beautiful, big and green everything was,” says Tabitha.

Finding the perfect wedding dress, however, was not as straightforward. “I always had an idea of how I wanted my wedding to look, and I thought I knew exactly what kind of wedding dress I wanted,” Tabitha explains. “When I tried on the style of gown that I thought I would like, it just didn’t suit me at all – actually, the complete opposite suited me!” Everything started to fall into place once Tabitha and Aaron settled on an elegant black-tie theme, which meant changing up their original ideas for the wedding wardrobe. They opted for tuxedos from Connor for the men, chic bridesmaid dresses from Bec + Bridge, and a glamorous wedding gown and bespoke veil from Jane Hill for Tabitha, accessorised perfectly with jewels from Natasha Schweitzer.

“Everyone we worked with to plan our big day was incredible. Everything was quite seamless when organising the entire wedding, so we didn’t have to stress about anything at all,” adds Tabitha. “Our photographer, And Ever Collective, and videographer, Mears Productions, worked so discreetly on the day that we hardly noticed them there, so it was amazing to see what they created for us from the day. Our singer, Taylor Moss, was wonderful, and the incredible staff at Flaxton Gardens were awesome with catering for our 80 guests and achieving everything Aaron and I wanted our day to be.”

These newlyweds have already shared a wildly romantic and love-filled journey – having their son, then getting married, and now expecting their second child, all within a short time – and it’s a whirlwind adventure they wouldn’t have any other way. “To us, marriage is about committing to someone you love, being 100 per cent comfortable with that one person and wanting to spend an eternity with them,” says Tabitha. “Our lives together and creating this beautiful family has been nothing short of amazing.” It’s a love story to last a lifetime.
