The Future Is Clear: Queensland’s First All-Glass Pavilion Is Coming to Brisbane

Glo House Brisbane Wedding Venue Roma Street Parklands

Get set, Brisbane. This new venue is bringing the Glo like never before.

Nestled within the lush surrounds of Roma Street Parkland, Glo House is Queensland’s first all-glass pavilion. This stunning, light-filled space, where architecture and nature collide in a breathtaking way, is set to launch in October 2025 – and it promises an immersive experience that’s equal parts modern luxury and garden serenity. Think twinkling stars above, manicured greenery all around, and your love story unfolding at the centre of it all.

Behind this visionary concept are Pete Cunningham and Anthony Ikin, the creative directors and founders of Glo Events, known for their bold ideas and world-class production credentials. From Moulin Rouge to major reality TV productions, they’ve brought spectacular moments to life on a global stage – and now, they’re bringing that magic home to Brisbane weddings.

We took five minutes with Pete and Anthony to discuss what couples can expect from Glo House, what makes it so special for Queensland’s wedding scene, and how this glass-walled wonder is set to redefine event spaces in Brisbane City.

Glo House is such a bold and beautiful concept. When you imagined it as a wedding venue, what kind of experience were you hoping to create for couples and their guests?

So many couples dream of celebrating their wedding amidst beautiful parklands, but the risk of unpredictable weather can understandably hold them back. With Glo House, we set out to create the best of both worlds. Nestled in the heart of Brisbane’s Roma Street Parkland, Glo House offers a breathtaking glass venue that immerses guests in nature while providing the comfort, style and certainty of an indoor celebration. Guests will be surrounded by manicured gardens, golden-hour sunsets and city skyline views, all while being completely protected from the elements.

Glo House is truly a blank canvas for couples to make their own, offering the sophistication of a luxury venue and the beauty of an open-air garden. It’s the kind of place where unforgettable moments unfold, rain, hail or shine.

With its transparent walls and lush parkland surrounds, Glo House feels like the ultimate ‘inside-outside’ wedding venue. What kind of weddings do you envisage unfolding here? And, how do you see couples making the most of the setting to create something truly personal?

We see Glo House as a canvas for truly personal, immersive celebrations; a venue that adapts to your vision, not the other way around.

With its transparent walls and ceiling with sweeping views of Roma Street Parkland, Glo House invites couples to blur the lines between indoors and out. One of the most significant advantages is that the entire lawn surrounding the structure is exclusively available to our couples, giving you the freedom to expand beyond the four walls and create moments in the whole landscape.

Whether you envision an elegant long-table dinner under the trees, a sunset cocktail hour on the lawn, or a styled ceremony that flows seamlessly into the reception, the space is yours to play with.

We encourage couples to make the venue their own. You can transform it into anything! From a romantic French brasserie to a minimalist, modern celebration… or keep it beautifully understated and let the natural surroundings take centre stage. The versatility of the structure allows you to go as big, bold, or simple as your story calls for.

You’ve worked on iconic entertainment productions and extravagant events all over the world. What does Glo House bring to Queensland’s wedding scene that we haven’t seen before? And, where does it sit alongside what’s happening in places like Sydney or Melbourne?

There is truly nothing else like Glo House in Brisbane… and that’s precisely the point.

Couples dreaming of an immersive, nature-filled wedding experience often have to travel hours outside the city, or even interstate, to find it. That can be logistically challenging, especially when it comes to guest travel and accommodation. With Glo House, we’ve brought that destination-wedding feel right into the heart of Brisbane. Lush parklands and rolling lawns surround you, yet just minutes from the CBD, major hotels, and transport hubs. It’s the best of both worlds.

Green space venues in Brisbane are few and far between, and Glo House redefines what’s possible in this space. It’s an entirely transparent, design-forward structure that offers luxury, comfort, and total immersion in nature, all without leaving the city.

Brisbane is undergoing a cultural transformation. With the Olympics on the horizon, there’s energy, growth, and ambition everywhere. We’re no longer the “big country town”, and it’s time our event spaces reflected that. Glo House is about meeting that moment, and bringing something to Queensland’s wedding scene that genuinely rivals what you’d find in Sydney, Melbourne, or even overseas.

What types of wedding styles or concepts do you think will truly shine in the  Glo House space? And how do you envision couples utilising the architecture to enhance the experience?

We’re big believers in personal style, and we love that no two weddings are ever the same. That’s precisely why we created a true blank canvas. The Glo House is designed to be transformed, whether you’re dreaming of something minimalist and romantic or bold and theatrical.

At Glo Events, we’re all about the GLOMENT – that one unforgettable moment that gives you goosebumps. It might be a jaw-dropping styling reveal, a powerful personal gesture, or a creative production element that lights up the night. Whatever it is, it has to mean something to the couple. That’s when the magic happens; when it becomes more than just a beautiful wedding, it becomes a memory that lives on in everyone’s hearts.

Architecturally, Glo House offers something incredibly unique. With no internal poles, couples have a full 450m² of unobstructed space to play with, which makes the possibilities truly endless. The roofline is also one of our favourite features. It’s a dramatic curved peak that not only makes a visual impact but also allows for incredible styling and rigging options above. The venue is already surrounded by natural beauty, but its structure empowers couples to elevate the experience and create something truly spectacular.

We honestly can’t wait to see how each couple makes it their own.

Given that GLO HOUSE is a stunning glass structure, how do you manage the heat and light — especially during Queensland’s famously intense summer months?

We’re so glad you asked. It’s a question many couples are naturally curious about, and we’ve absolutely considered it in our planning.

Glo House is fully air-conditioned, offering year-round comfort. However, we know that Queensland’s summer sun can be intense, so during warmer months, we’ll prioritise and encourage sunset and evening receptions when the light is softer and the temperature is more pleasant.

If a daytime event is required, we’ll work with planners and vendors to install ceiling draping or additional styling (such as internal greenery or trees) to create shade and soften the light. In between events, the roof of Glo House will be covered to manage heat and protect the space.

Future placements of Glo House (announcing soon) will also be strategically located in shady parkland areas wherever possible, with optional external shade solutions. And, of course, our winter season in the parklands offers picture-perfect weather for daytime weddings: sunny, crisp, and incredibly photogenic.

The fact that Glo House is designed to be mobile is so intriguing! While you’re launching at Roma Street Parkland, is there a vision to take it to other dream locations around Brisbane?

Yes, absolutely!! One of the most exciting things about Glo House is its mobility. It’s designed to pop up in beautiful, iconic locations and then move on to the next. While our debut season will be at Roma Street Parkland for a limited 12-week run, we’re already dreaming up what’s next for 2026.

We can’t quite reveal our future locations just yet (a few pieces still need to fall into place), but rest assured, they’ll be just as spectacular. If you’re planning a Brisbane wedding and love the idea of a one-of-a-kind parkland setting, we’d love to hear from you. The next chapter for Glo House is already shaping up to be something truly special, and we can’t wait to share it.
