Whether you’re a fan of the fashion of yesteryear or you’re just looking for a lovely day out, head along to this fabulous exhibition at Brisbane’s Old Government House.
Running from July 12 to August 19, The Bowerbird and The Bride will showcase an array of beautiful wedding dresses from the 1880s to 1970s. Collected by award-wining Australian costume designer Marion Boyce (Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and The Dressmaker), the pieces on display are simply stunning and have been lovingly cared for – who says hanging onto your wedding dress is a waste of space?
Also featuring gorgeous headpieces, bouquets and other bridal accessories, The Bowerbird and the Bride is one for the fashion-lovers out there. Be sure to also add Sunday, June 22 to your iCal when the stately grounds of Old Government House will be transformed into an elegant wedding garden party! Expect live music, dance classes, a pop-up vintage salon, lawn games and DIY wedding-themed activities.
