After Five Bridal
For 40 years, After Five has been part of Brisbane's bridal story, dressing generations of brides, mothers and daughters. Today the boutique is based in a light-filled studio in Underwood on Brisbane's southside, where owner Jodie Nielsen and her team offer private styling appointments for brides, bridesmaids and the women who love them.
A Brisbane bridal name with a modern outlook
Jodie brings around thirty years in fashion and retail to After Five. Her career has included time with major fashion houses in London, a department manager role with Myer and general management of a Brisbane bridal boutique. She sees herself as a custodian of the After Five name rather than simply its owner, honouring its heritage while shaping it for today's bride. In her words, it's "forty years of heritage, with a very modern heartbeat."
The appointment experience
Every bride has her own private bridal room and stylist, with music, bubbles and room for her favourite people. Bring your mum, sisters, grandmother or best friend. The stylists know the collection closely and are known for suggesting the gown you'd never have picked yourself, so it pays to give them a little creative licence.
Once the right gown is found, the team brings everything together, from the dress and veil to the accessories, so you can take a moment to see yourself as a bride. Brides travel from across Queensland, interstate and New Zealand for the experience.
Gowns and designers
After Five stocks a curated mix of Australian and international designers, including Oui The Label and Dutch bridal house Modeca. Expect romantic lace, Mikado, sculptural silhouettes, corsetry, draping and two-in-one designs. Jodie also designs for the boutique's own label, Meraki, and offers a custom gown service through Atelier Blanc.

For the whole bridal party
Beyond the bridal gown, After Five offers bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride styles, veils, jewellery and accessories. Its formal collection also covers school formals, black-tie events and special occasions.
