There are a few must-tick-the-box considerations when deciding on the perfect honeymoon destination and accommodation to match. We’ve run a checklist – and checked it twice – to bring you what we believe is one of Queensland’s best honeymoon hotspots. Say, hello, t0 Airlie Beach and two accommodation choices here that will see you simply check-in, and then check-out, to serious honeymoon enjoyment.
Luxury for lovers: Mirage Whitsundays
For a little holiday town, this place packs punch with accommodation choice. On the luxe-end, you’ll find the five-star self-contained apartments at Mirage Whitsundays an absolute haven of space and comfort. Cocoon yourselves away in contemporary living at its best and enjoy north-facing views that stretch over the Coral Sea and beyond to the forested coastline. The large, sun-soaked terrace is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of champagne while watching the fantastic daily sunset.
Located just outside of Airlie, you’ll love the easy walk (or bike ride) via the boardwalk to the town where you can enjoy its abundance of restaurants, cafes and bars for lunch, dinner and cocktails. And, while your apartments are fully self-contained, the option of enjoying breakfast in the brand new onsite restaurant, Cafe Mira, is also a convenient option.
Of course, what is a honeymoon without relaxing? Be sure to book yourselves some honeymoon indulgence with a couples treatment at their Satori Spa, followed by some serious sun time by the adults-only pool. Cocktail, anyone?
Luxury for lovers: Peppers Airlie Beach
At the other end of town, you’ll discover the hillside haven of Peppers Airlie Beach. Overlooking the port of Airlie and offering to-die-for views stretching out through the Whitsunday passage, this is the choice for couples who are seeking a casual yet comfortable island-vibe location. The open-air lobby and restaurant set the scene perfectly for your honeymoon in the tropics.
The apartments are spacious and comfortably furnished with kitchen, lounge, spa bath and huge verandas that provide the perfect spot from which to enjoy your dreamy location. The position is enviably close to town though take a hint from us; you will want to take advantage of their complimentary shuttle service which means you don’t have to walk the winding, steep hills on foot. Then again, you may find yourselves staying onsite more often than not to enjoy their restaurant, terrace pool and spa treatments!
