Last year, weddings went back to basics and couples were embracing the boho/non-traditional look. In 2018, we’re still loving celebrations like these, but there’s also been a definite return to weddings with a touch of elegance, romance and grandeur (nothing wrong with keeping things a little bit old-school).

Love the classic look? We asked Weddings at Tiffany’s Senior Stylist & Floral Design Assistant Chloe Harney for her top tips. From styling to what food to serve, this talented pro knows her stuff…

What would you say are the three most important things to keep in mind for couples wanting this kind of celebration?
Styling, dining, and entertainment are the three most important things to keep in mind. I also think having a solid theme (for example, colours and style) is very important to keep in mind as you want your ceremony and reception to all flow together seamlessly.

For styling, what are some ways to create an elegant atmosphere?
It’s all about the table styling! Having lots of tea-light candles or candelabras creates a warm and romantic atmosphere – and, of course, lots of stunning flowers are a must! Florals and candles lined down a long banquet row looks extremely elegant. A sheer table runner in your chosen colour palette can be really lovely and adds a touch of texture to your tables. We also love a favour that look sweet and dainty on the tables. Locally sourced favours like jams, chutneys or honey jars are a great choice for any reception.

What sort of food or serving styles do you think really work for a classic/grand reception?
Here at Tiffany’s, food is so important and we are lucky enough to have some incredible dining options. We offer personalised fine dining where guests actually choose their meals prior to the big day, as opposed to your usual alternative drop of chicken and beef. We also offer fine dining table service, so guests never need to get themselves a drink or even lift a finger. We ensure everyone is being treated to five-star service and walks away having had an incredible experience at Tiffany’s – it makes for a very sophisticated reception.

What about entertainment? Is there anything you recommend to make a reception feel next-level?
Live music is a big must. Nothing sets the mood more than a beautiful string quartet down in the chapel for the ceremony. Then, make your reception unforgettable with a killer band, duo or singer belting out all your favourite tunes live. We believe in a fun space where guest can dance, laugh and have an amazing experience!

Bringing to life a grand celebration can seem quite daunting. What are some ways that Weddings at Tiffany’s helps to make it simple?
We know wedding planning can be extremely overwhelming, so our aim is to make the process as smooth and easy as possible or our brides and grooms. We have three incredible wedding co-ordinators and two talented onsite florists who are only a phone call away and are always more than happy to answer any questions. We also understand the decoration of the venue is a very important part for many couples and we want to take as much pressure off them as possible. So we actually have our own onsite stylist who will set and style the room for you on the day of your wedding.
