Reliability and old fashioned work ethic is a must, but above all, you’ll need people you gel with. Hair and makeup artists are the first of your enlisted entourage to work with you on your big day. You’ll want to kick-start your wedding on a positive note, so choosing the right artist will make sure you set the vibe!”
BE PREPARED
“Hunt down specific reference images and ideas for your makeup and hair design. A handful of over-photoshopped Kardashian pics won’t cut it.”
TREAT YOUR SKIN
“The perfect complexion is a team effort. To hold up your end of the bargain, give your skin extra attention leading up to the big day with treatments and a healthy diet. Your makeup artist must be able to colour match perfectly, contour your features without overdoing it and create a natural velvet texture that will last all day. If you can pull that off, you truly can’t go wrong!”
TIME MANAGEMENT
“Don’t give your hair and makeup artist a 15-minute window and expect perfection. This is your day – take the time to enjoy the process and be pampered! If your bridal party is more like a bridal festival, consider requesting (and budgeting for) additional artists.”
