Whether you’ve kept a few ideas in mind over the years or you’ve been the proud owner of a curated wedding Pinterest board, it’s safe to say that most of us have some sort of vision for their dream celebration. For Victoria and Warren, saying “I do” somewhere that was close to the city but still felt blissfully secluded was top of their list. A hard ask? Falling for Brisbane’s beautiful Walkabout Creek, the two found the perfect place! “The minute we drove up to Walkabout creek we felt like we had been transported to a forest escape,” says Victoria. Sounds like heaven to us!
Inviting their nearest and dearest, plus loved ones from Scotland, the two tied the knot in a heartwarming outdoor ceremony. “Our Scottish guests were amazed by the kangaroos and wallabies, and all the native birds at Walkabout Creek,” says Victoria. “It was unlike anything they’d seen!”
Taking in the enchanting setting, the newlyweds later explored the venue’s spectacular bushland for photos – after taking care of a very important task first, of course. “Our photographer actually checked the long grass for snakes,” laughs Victoria. “We all found it hilarious and loved having photos taken surrounded by such gorgeous nature!”
With everyone in high spirits, Victoria and Warren danced the night away with friends and family at Walkabout Creek’s fabulous indoor-outdoor reception area. “I loved how the dance floor was on the large balcony with the beautiful fairy lights above us,” remembers Victoria. “The staff went above and beyond to make our reception special – one of the kids there declared that it was the ‘Best wedding ever!'”
Enjoying delicious fare and more sweet moments on the dance floor, the two were treated to nothing but good vibes. “It was so intimate and relaxed,” says Victoria. “It definitely was a day to remember!”
