Why Emilia + Jack loved Blackbird Private Dining & Events

Both growing up in Queensland’s capital, Emilia and Jack always wanted to showcase their hometown for their wedding. “It was important to us to have our celebrations somewhere that was so iconically Brisbane,” says Emilia. With fabulous views of the Brisbane River and the Story Bridge, Blackbird proved to be the perfect match. “We absolutely loved the venue and its views, and we’ve always enjoyed the beautiful food that the restaurant has to offer.”

With the couple’s vision in mind, a team of talented stylists transformed the venue into a space brimming with modern elegance and opulence. “‘Glam’ was the word that we always referred to when planning the details,” says Emilia. Adorned with chic black pillar candles, Perspex centrepieces, rose gold accents and cascading blooms, Blackbird provided the perfect setting for dancing and enjoying award-winning fare. “It was so amazing to see everything come together on the day. Everyone loved it!”

Surrounded by a glittering skyline, Emilia and Jack impressed their 142 guests once more with a special first dance. “Jack had actually surprised me with dance lessons and he ended things with a big lift,” laughs Emilia. “It was the perfect moment!”

Enjoying another perfect moment, the two topped everything off with a grand Champagne tower toast. “The whole day was just so beautiful,” says Emilia. We’ll second that.
