Wedding of Sheree + JohnTHE PROPOSAL

Romance was definitely in the air on the day John proposed to the stunning Sheree at Tea Tree Bay in Noosa.

After treating her to a surprise picnic on the beach at sunset with cheese, wine and chocolate – before popping the question – he then whisked her away for dinner at the fabulous Bistro C, on the beachfront at Main Beach, Noosa. Bliss.

Why did you go to Clayfield Jewellery for your wedding band?
“Trevor from Clayfield Jewellery came highly recommended by a friend who had just had a very detailed and original piece made,” explains Sheree, “so I could tell he was up to the challenge of doing mine!”

What was the best piece of advice they gave you?
“To go for what I had my heart set on, because you only get one wedding ring, so you want it to be perfect.”

What was the most surprising thing you discovered on your quest for the perfect ring?
“It was really hard to visualise exactly what I wanted and after a while everything starts to look the same! I had my heart set on something unique that complemented my engagement ring, so not finding it on the shelf made me really anxious at first.

As what I wanted was quite intricate, the fact that I could sit with Trevor, the jeweller, as he designed my ring on their 3D programme, was such a help. From this they were able to make multiple wax moulds, which was a total game-changer. I had been so worried that I was going to end up with a ring that looked nothing like the picture I had in my mind. But this system helped to alleviate the stress of making such a big investment without knowing exactly what I was going to get. I could see the finished design and then confidently make a decision, knowing it was perfect.”

What did you end up choosing?
“A two-piece 18ct white-gold ring (so with my engagement ring, I have three in total), with diamond wedders in two-tier raised halos so the light shines both under and through them. I love it!”

Top tip?
“Work within your budget – it’s so easy to blow it. Get multiple quotes and don’t ever be forced into choosing a jeweller because they put pressure on you. You should be comfortable with them and they should have a clear understanding of what you want.

I found a lot of jewellers try to talk you into what they think you should have. I hated that. You should walk out feeling excited about the money you are about to spend and with complete confidence in the jeweller you’ve chosen. Like we had in Trevor!”
