Esther + Jonathan: a love worth the wait

  |

Let’s get real, guys – sometimes relationships aren’t always steady and each are different in their own way. Thanks to years of overseas trips and living in different states, Esther and Jonathan’s relationship was of the on-again-off-again kind, but in the end they were sure they were meant to be together. Planning a romantic proposal for one visit, Jonathan popped the question and the rest was history. “We went to a lookout overlooking the ocean, his hometown and Avoca Beach where we first kissed” says Esther. “With tears in his eyes, he asked me to be his wife and of course I said yes!”

Five months later, Esther and Jonathan were ready to say “I do” when they noticed an important guest was missing. “Mum missed me walking down the aisle,” admits Esther. “Clueless, the ceremony started as normal and I only found out when I reached Jonny at the end of the aisle and he told me. Mum arrived shortly after and we hastily restarted the ceremony without question. It’s not every day a bride gets to walk down the aisle twice.”

After laughing it off and tying the knot surrounded by loved ones, the two shared some more laughs as they had photos taken and explored the stunning grounds of Noosa Spring Resort on a golf buggy. At the beautifully styled Noosa Waterfront Restaurant, Esther and Jonathan enjoyed a night of food and laughter with their guests. “You could say our theme was simple, elegant and classic,” says Esther. “We filled the room with white flowers, lights and candles, but my favourite part was the strings of lights outside on the grass.”

Forced to ‘wing it’ after losing his prepared speech, Jonathan nailed it, and then partied the night away with Esther, before escaping to Fiji for a glamorous honeymoon. “The evening was filled with laughter, joy and so much love,” says Esther. “My only request would be to do it all over again!”
