How did you meet?

I used to work in a pub and Reece would come down after work and sit at the end of the bar and stare at me until I said hello. I had a boyfriend at the time but as soon as that was over he asked me out for a drink.

Tell us about the proposal..

We were in Europe last year with a lot of my family. My 21st birthday fell while we were travelling in Paris. We had dinner in the Eiffel Tower and I requested everyone wear black tie as it was a special occasion. I thought Reece was going to propose that night. As the night went on I realised it wasn’t going to happen and woke up the next day a little upset. That day we were going to the Love Lock Bridge where we had brought a personalised lock we were going to put on the bridge. We locked the lock posed for a kiss and it was then Reece asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

Why did you choose Hillstone St Lucia for your wedding?

I really wanted the grand wedding with the big dress and the large reception room. I loved the golf course and the wedding coordinators are just brilliant. So helpful with everything I wanted.

What did you do for your hens and bucks?

I took my girls on a river cruise ‘Wild Boys Afloat’ along the Brisbane river. Reece had a bunch of lads go to Oktoberfest in Brisbane.

DIY Details

I made my own centre piece to be the same as the floating rose in the glass dome out of Beauty and the Beast.

What was your key styling inspiration?

I am a Disney princess at heart, I had lots of inspiration from the great man Walt Disney

Where did you splurge and where did you save on your wedding?

We splurged on our limousine. I feel I got an amazing deal on my dress and our photographer!

What gifts did you give your guests?

As we got engaged in Paris, we gave little gold Eiffel Towers on a key ring with two red chocolate hearts.

What was the funniest moment of the day?

We forgot to kiss in the ceremony! The Priest didn’t pause after he pronounced us man and wife so he totally skipped the kiss!

What was the most special memory from the day?

I loved the moment where Reece and I were holding hands looking at each other saying our vows in front of all of our closest friends and family. That was a pretty amazing feeling.

What did you do for your honeymoon?

We honeymooned in Phuket, Thailand

Special thanks to…

My mother for helping me put together this whole day! Also my new husband for listening to me talk nothing but wedding for the last year and a half!

What advice would you give other brides-to-be?

Try and have a year or longer engagement. It feels like the day will never come but the planning to my big day was the most fun I’ve ever had! Stay calm and enjoy it! Your marring the man of your dreams!
