The home of Queensland’s memory, the State Library of Queensland is an exceptional backdrop for your memorable day.

State Library is a unique wedding venue located in the Cultural Precinct of South Brisbane. There are a number of wonderful spaces perfect for your special ceremony or reception, each with a picturesque view of the Brisbane skyline.

Poinciana Lounge– One of the Library’s breathtaking rooms, the second-floor Poinciana Lounge boasts of a cavernous ceiling, large windows covering two floors, and river views. It can hold up to 150 people for cocktail-type receptions and 100 for banquets.

Queensland Terrace– If you desire an open-air space, choose the Queensland Terrace. It can accommodate up to 300 guests for a unique cocktail reception or 150 for a banquet-style dinner. You might be won over by the six-metre-high ceiling, Tasmanian oak cabinets full of vintage teacup-and-saucer sets, and Chillagoe marble flooring.

The Red Box– Perfect for receptions with up to 40 guests in attendance, the Red Box extends out over the Brisbane River from the main building offering wall-to-wall windows, providing an impressive river and city skyline backdrop.

Catering needs will be addressed by one of the Library’s preferred vendors, which you can choose from a specific list (it’s even better if your prospect caterer was also on that list!). The overall quote, whether it’s for a half-day or full-day rental, will cover expenses for venue security, use of AV equipment, and the deployment of dedicated AV techs.

The choice of venue adds splendour to a wedding, especially when the facility is highly credible and safe. You deserve that for your special day. Give the State Library of Queensland event team a call now.
