Make Your Wedding Last All Day (and night) Long

We are loving the trend towards out-of-the-box wedding start times. Think mid-wedding galas, Friday fiestas, weekend-long parties, sunrise soirées and lunch celebrations like this sunshine-drenched rustic affair.

“Make your day an all-day celebration, especially if you include a sunrise wedding followed by breakfast or mid morning brunch,” says Danielle from white + white wedding and events, who has been seeing this style gain momentum.

“Lunchtime feasts are becoming increasingly popular, with long table feasting, beautiful wines and wedding merriment rolling into the late afternoon. Reserving an unusual time will mean more venue availability at a reduced rate.”

This recent example brings the best of the bush into a luxe shared lunch with cheery yellow accents, entertainment from a harpist and live band and a naked cake (our favourite!) adorned with native flora.

Top 3 tips for the perfect sunrise wedding

1. Location, location, location!

Be sure to choose a ceremony location that has spectacular views so the sunrise is worth it!

2. Feed your guests well

Having friends and family attend your ceremony at 6am will certainly help them work up an appetite and there can be some seriously delicious food on offer! Think hot chocolates, breads and pastries, juice bars, farmers market or picnic style set-ups.

 3. Be super organised

Having access to your venue the day before the wedding is a must! Any jobs that can be done before the wedding day should be completed, to ensure the precious time in the wee hours of the morning is used only for last-minute tasks.

A naked cake is equal parts casual and luxe, and it’s a truly a delectable dessert for this a lunchtime reception.

Seating your guests at one long table creates a communal feel, and piles of sunflowers and olive-hued greenery are an oh-so-happy touch.
